Journey to Mosaic, November 11-14

Reservations are now open for Journey to Mosaic, November 11-14, 2010. Sign up for this 4-day mobile seminar dealing with our racial history in the Pacific Northwest and a chance to dialogue with Christian brothers and sisters on how we can be a light and guide for racial justice and reconciliation.
On J2M we learn that, as common people and followers of Jesus working together for common good, we can be a powerful influence for the kind of justice that is central to God's heart. [More info]

Jubilee 2010

Participating teachers have submitted wish lists at Woodridge Elementary and seven other elementary schools. They'll be in their classrooms Saturday, August 14, waiting for the volunteers, followers of Jesus from over 20 churches, to assist completion of opening school tasks.

Woodridge could definitely use more volunteers. Volunteers with sewing machines are needed at Stevenson Elementary to sew the much appreciated chair bags. There are 15 approved homes in needed of volunteers to "beautify". What an opportunity to let His light shine, be it for the morning or the day. Every volunteer counts!!!

Vision House Garage Sale
Vision House Bargain Bash Garage Sale benefits transitional housing for the homeless

The Annual Vision House Bargain Bash Garage Sale, August 20-21, is a huge garage sale that not only benefits the families rebuilding their lives at Vision House but is also a significant community event.

Vision House is a Christian based non-profit that provides transitional housing and support services to homeless men, women, and their children and has been serving our community since 1990. This is a much needed community program and there are many opportunities for Newporters to support Vision House through the Bargain Bash Garage Sale. They are looking for volunteers to help with setup, cleanup, and with merchandising on sale days.
